Hello instrumental music family,
These are interesting times we are living
in. Before we go any further, be aware that this current update may only
be current for a few hours, as this situation with COVID-19 may literally
change minute by minute.
First of all, please read the official statement
put out by the combined superintendents of the Livingston County School
Districts.
Now, this is how these statements currently affect
the instrumental music department:
-All performances from now until April 3rd 2020
are cancelled. This includes Howellpalooza, Collage, and State Solo and
Ensemble.
-Pit rehearsals for Secret Garden are
currently scheduled to continue next week.
-Drumline auditions and practice are scheduled
to continue.
-The New York trip falls outside the current
mandatory cancellation order, so it is still currently scheduled. As
stated many times before, this could change.
I am heartbroken just like everyone else that we
have had to cancel many of these performances, but I truly believe it is for
the best and will aid us in stemming the spread of the virus. One of the
most frustrating things about our current situation is how uncertain things are
right now for everyone. Please know we
are trying our very best to keep you current on all information regarding
COVID-19 and Howell Public Schools.

after April 3rd, as I have no idea. As always, the safety and well being of your children is our highest priority. Lets all do our best to face this challenge and get through it together.
