We need one chaperone for Wind Ensemble and two chaperones for Concert Band.  You would need to report at that band's report time, listed in a previous blog, and ride the bus with the students to and from Lake Orion High School.  Please contact Christyne MacDermaid if you can help out.  christynemacdermaid@gmail.com

Home Show Needs
We need one more student to work a 9-11am spot on Sunday, March 23, 2014.
We are looking for multiple families to donate baked goods that can be sold at the Home Show concession stand the weekend of March 21-23.  Please contact Kathe Wenzel at bkwenzel@yahoo.com if you can help w/either of these Home Show needs.

Lock In April 4, 2014
We could use as many chaperones as we can get for this all night event! Help us all night, or from 7pm-1am, or 12:30am to 6am.  
We are also looking for fun, student centered donations of gift cards from around the community. Examples would be $5 from Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Bigby etc.
Also looking to borrow a Karoke Machine for this night.

May Dates
We will be looking for donations for the basket raffle at the May 20th concert and a family to organize the Memorial Day Picnic held at Thompson Lake for the Marching Band.  We will also post a date for the Banquet asap.  Contact Christyne MacDermaid if you want to get an early start on either of the May date items.

NEWS FLASHES! LOTS OF THEM! CONCERT THIS THURSDAY, AND FESTIVAL! A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!

Hello everyone!  Here's all the news that's fit to print:


CONCERT THIS THURSDAY.

There is a concert this Thursday.  It is at 7PM.  Percussion ensemble, Concert band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble are performing.  Report time is 6:30 pm.  This is the "clinic concert"  where we have an esteemed band director (and MSBOA judge) listen to our performance and give us pointers.  Concert attire is the standard uniform for all groups (including formal shirt, bowtie, black pants, black shoes, and wind ensemble jacket if they are in wind ensemble).


MSBOA DISTRICT FESTIVAL DATE AND PERFORMANCE TIMES.

All three bands perform on SATURDAY, MARCH 15th 2014 AT LAKE ORION HS.  All bands will be driven by bus to the site.  All bands meet at Howell High School and are dropped off at Howell HS.



WIND ENSEMBLE:
Report time at HHS: 6:20 AM
Depart for LOHS:6:45 AM
Arrive LOHS: 8:00 AM
Perform: 9:00AM
Back at HHS: 11:15 am



CONCERT BAND:
Report time at HHS :11:30 AM
Depart for LOHS: 11:55 AM
Arrive at LOHS: 1:10
Perform: 2:10 PM
Back at HHS 4:25PM


SYMPHONIC BAND:

Solo and ensemble edition!

Hello all!


Yes, solo and ensemble is still happening this weekend, even though there is a snow storm headed this way.  PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Safety is not worth a rating.  If you can't make it, people will understand.

If you are still going (Yay!) It is at Hartland HS (10635 Dunham Rd, Hartland, MI 48353 so you can google maps)

I will be in SECTION 1 PERFORMANCE if there are any issues during the day.  Please come find me if you need help or there are problems.

CHAIRS... Finally!

Hello Everyone!


Ok... These are the chairs for now.. A few stipulations:

-If you have yet to audition, you were probably left off the list.

-Spellings me be a little sketchy, powerschool was down at the time of printing.

-Obviously I will happily re check scores if you like. Errors have been made in the past, though we are usually pretty good.

-The reason these are a little late is because I had no heat when I got home.  The maintenance man just left now. I have some space heaters, so I should be good.  However, this nullifies the "doughnut penalty" previously mentioned. I'm sure you understand :)

-W.E. perc is still in the office back at the school. I owe them, and only them, doughnuts...
