It is almost time for the first game!!  Slight change, but a good one!!

Report time 4:15
Practice time 4:30
Pizza time 5:30pm  YES, YOU READ CORRECTLY!!  Mr. Smigell wants you all fed and ready to rock this show out, so we are changing it up and eating before step off!!!  Please bring $2 to practice tomorrow, or to report time on Thursday.  You can give your money to Hayden MacDermaid, drumline student, he will be collecting money at practice Weds.  Mrs. MacDermaid will collect it on Thurs at report time.  If you are bringing your own food, that's fine, but PLEASE eat before step off!!  We could use extra parents to help serve, and set up the water and Gatorade cooler.

Step off 6:30pm  New parents, this is very cool to watch!!  Please join us outside the band room and watch all of your student's hard work pay off.

Next Week

Hey All:

There is only two practices this coming week for everyone in marching band.

Wednesday August 27th : 7:25am - 9:30am @ HHS

Thursday August 28th: TBD @ HHS - Depending on Wednesday's practice, but it will be before the game. The report time for both the practice and the football game will be announced at Wednesday's practice. It will also be reported here.

A friendly reminder - there is NO tailgate before this game. Students are suppose to have dinner before they come to practice/the game. Feel free to bring a few dollars for snacks during the game.

The uniform for this game is:

- Khaki Shorts (Fingertips at your side in length, must follow School/District's Dress Code)
- Solid Black Socks
- Solid Black Shoes

Please read the earlier post about donating water if you are interested.

~ Jade
We still could use cases of water donated for the band students to drink in the stands!
We also need help getting the water, ice and water tubs over to the stands this Thursday.  If you can help with this, report at the students report time.  We will know that time when Mr. Smigell decides and posts.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Post Band Camp Practices and Drill App

Hey All!

Here is the info for the post band camp practices.

Tues Aug 19th / Weds Aug 20th / Thurs Aug 21st: 7:30am - 9:30am @ PARKER MS
Tues Aug 26th / Weds Aug 27th: TBD (Working out the time and location still atm)
Thurs Aug 28th: First Home Football Game vs Monroe - Info will be given after band camp

We introduced the OPTIONAL drill app at Squad Leader Day. The app is called "Drillbook Next" by Scott Rundell and its available on both the Android and iPhone products (tablets and smartphones) for $2.99. (He has an app called "Drillbook" - we are not using that one) This app is completely optional - you will NOT need this in order to be in marching band.

The app allows you to look at the formations and movements of the whole show. It can give you anyone's coordinates - per set and/or the whole show. If there are changes or updating of the drill - it will automatically be updated on the app. This allows marchers to be able follow along, catch up if they miss a day, and always have their coordinates with them; They can also use this app to helps others around them.

All the HHS Marching Band shows for this season (and the seasons to come) will be placed on this app - including any updates/changes that are made. Once again - we will still continue to pass out coordinate sheets (and charts to the squad leaders) throughout the season - this is completely OPTIONAL but will help any marcher who has it.

Here is the information for the drill that the band will be learning at band camp / using for the first show:

Organization: HHS
